Cacela

Located about 1km from the beach of Manta Rota, it is a very sought after place of residence. In this area you can count on history and landscapes to discover.

Vila Nova de Cacela is part of the municipality of Vila Real de Santo António, and was even the county seat before the foundation of the current city as we know it. Here we find Cacela Velha, which is part of the extraordinary Portuguese architectural heritage, where the old fortress, the old cemetery, the cistern and the Mother Church stand out.

Arriving in Cacela, we lose ourselves in a world of single-storey houses, whitewashed in a blinding white, but what stands out is the simplicity of everything and everyone. This is certainly the oldest part of the county, which had among its most prominent economic activities, fishing and salting, given the exploitation of salt pans.
