The two towns, united since forever, will be the stage and bridge for several times and several spaces that will host various events over the 3 days of the event.
The Contraband Festival will include presentations and artistic interventions in Alcoutim and Sanlúcar de Guadiana. Thus, the public will be able to enjoy three days of cultural content, which will invade and animate the villages.
A new attraction this year will be the Old Fashioned Costume Contest, as well as a craft beer market at the Alcoutim River Beach. Besides this, the Festival will follow the same line of programming as in previous editions, a fusion of traditions, with the participation of Folkloric Ranchos, Alentejo Singing groups, Flamenco shows, Sofia Pimentão with a puppet show, and street music performances. Saturday night, the Spanish group Deabru Beltzak will play through the streets of Alcoutim with their percussion and fire show.
Street theater and new circus will also be present at the festival, with companies from the four corners of the globe, like Anita Berolami from Switzerland, Shiva Grings from Germany, Teatro Só from Portugal, Companhia Aquiles e Penelope from Chile, Brunitus and Compañia El Fedito from Argentina, Allessandro Vallin from Italy, and several others.
The Festival's complete program will be announced in March, at the Lisbon Tourism Fair.
